Wearing skirts is beautiful, but when there is an annoying feeling that a woman experiences when the skirt starts to ride up the pantyhose, then this is not very pleasant. There is only one option left: you have to pull the hem with every gust of wind or adjust the belt when you get up. The most interesting thing is that you can avoid such hassle through some very important steps.
Simple tips to help keep your skirt from riding up
Safety (shorts) first
Wearing protective shorts is a sure way to keep your skirt in place all day long without having to adjust it every few seconds. You need to choose such shorts that are made of elastic knitted material – friction with knitwear will make the skirt stay and never rise higher.
It would also be a good idea to purchase several shorts in different shades, as you want them to lie under the skirt as much as possible incognito.
wrap skirt
The next version of the skirt is a skirt that does not go against the wind. After pencil skirts, wrap skirts are probably the most windproof skirts that don’t blow up in a light breeze. And even if it gets caught in a crosswind, there is always an extra piece of fabric underneath the top layer to keep the coverage.
In addition, wrap skirts come in different styles and shapes – a high and low wrap skirt will flutter beautifully in the wind without too much feeling of vulgarity.
Shapewear
Shapewear is another skirt helper, especially with fitted pencil skirts. As is the case with protective shorts, often the friction due to mold wear under the silky material itself relieves the hands of the possibility of the skirt riding up or moving from side to side.
For the next step, you will need two things: a pair of tights and a top that covers the waistband of the skirt.
Step 1: Pull a pair of tights (or stockings) under your skirt.
Step 2: Wrap the waistband of the pantyhose over the waistband of the skirt.
Step 3: Adjust and close the waistband area with a top.
This technique is especially useful to prevent side-to-side movement of a skirt that is loose at the hips or waist, as the pantyhose waistband will help keep the skirt in place all day long.
Spray hairspray
This last option requires the use of a beauty product that is probably already on every woman’s dressing table: hairspray.
Step 1: Apply a thin layer of moisturizer to your feet to act as a barrier.
Step 2: Test your hairspray to make sure it doesn’t react with your skin.
Step 3: Where the hem of the skirt ends, apply some hairspray to your legs.
Apply hairspray to your legs to keep the pencil skirt from rolling up and moving.
Rules for the selection of skirts and fabrics
Even when the skirt wraps loosely around the hips and seems to leave a lot of room around the knees, it can still get stuck on the pantyhose, and for this it is important to learn how to fit the skirt.
A properly fitting skirt should hang down from the waist. There may be free space around the hips, but if there is not enough freedom in the hips, the skirt will rise up.
You may have to adjust the skirt to your hips and bring it up to your waist (if you do, make sure the tailor removes the waist with darts. The darts are what shapes the fabric to fit the double curve of the hip, and if you only sew the side seam on waist, this cannot be achieved).
Other things that can cause problems are fabrics that stretch, because the stretch allows the fabric to move in such a way that the garment no longer “self-corrects” in its design. One example would be the waist stretch, which allows the skirt to come down from the natural waist just enough to fit around the hip area.
Sometimes the problem can also arise due to a too high cut on the back side of it, and for this you need to take fairly small steps in order to somehow correct this situation and not look vulgar.
In general, the task is quite simple, if you learn to understand more the type of figure and learn to feel your body and movement. Then the woman will be able to pick up clothes without any difficulties.
