Leather skirt: 4 options and what to wear them with

We tell you how and with what to combine a complex, at first glance, element of a woman’s wardrobe.

All of us at least once stared at a leather skirt in a store, but often abandoned the idea of buying it because of thoughts about what to wear it with. This problem is especially acute for girls, whose wardrobe mainly consists of basic items from the simplest fabrics (cotton, wool, cashmere, linen, and so on).

Therefore, we decided to tell you which models of leather skirts to combine with what to make the outfit look harmonious. Read our material and choose which set suits you and will be as comfortable as possible.

Leather midi skirts

One way to create an elegant look is to base it on leather midi skirts. At the shows of the spring-summer collections, these skirts were stylized in a variety of ways.

We suggest wearing a pleated leather midi skirt with silk or chiffon blouses with frills or decorative buttons, pumps or over the knee boots. In the case of over the knee boots, choose them so long that they go under the skirt.

So the outfit looks more collected and does not visually shorten the legs. In the cold season, a loose-fitting or straight-cut coat, as well as a classic trench coat, are suitable as outerwear.

For a sporty chic look, we offer you the following option: a muted green leather skirt, a T-shirt, sneakers and a bomber jacket. Complete the look with a headband and a belt bag.

We recommend wearing a medium-length pencil skirt with straight or slightly loose blouses and shirts, knitted sweaters and knitted jumpers, as well as with jackets of any style.

Leather mini

A leather miniskirt is a very provocative and controversial element of the wardrobe. Top and shoes that are incorrectly matched to such a skirt can make the image vulgar and cheap. Therefore, in order not to attract unnecessary attention to yourself and not to receive undeserved regalia behind your back, you should be more careful with such a skirt.

As for the top, for a short leather skirt, we advise you to choose tops, shirts and blouses made of thick fabric (it is possible with a neckline, but again very carefully). Also a good pair would be a knitted sweater, the front of which can be tucked into a skirt.

If you still decide to wear, for example, a crop top or a top with thin straps, then you should wear something over it: a cardigan, a jacket, a bomber jacket, a denim jacket – depending on where you are going to go in this look.

We do not recommend wearing high over the knee boots with a leather miniskirt, it is better to stay on ankle boots or shoes with or without low heels, or sneakers.

Printed leather skirts

This is probably the most complex model in the segment of leather skirts. We advise you not to play with snakes, tigers and zebras, and wear animal -printed leather models with solid tops in basic colors and not get carried away with accessories.

With leather skirts with simpler prints, such as polka dots, you can wear a gingham or geometric print shirt. Knitted and knitted items are also suitable for similar models.

If you want to wear leather shoes with such a skirt, then choose models from perforated or matte leather.
